Our people are going on the streets in Iran - so far away in a democratic country, do not sit and watch from afar

====================
Even as you read these words no less than 4000 Iranian journalists, human rights activists, bloggers, students, intellectuals and academics languish in the prisons of the Islamic regime. They are physically and psychologically tortured or under constant threat of torture, many held in solitary confinement, forced to confess to bogus transgressions, tried in illegal courts and given harsh sentences. Ten years for writing an open letter to the so-called supreme leader! Thousands of lives are ruined every day.
Did you know since the so-called elections of June 2009 many students and young people have been killed either in the streets or in captivity for no other reason than participating in peaceful protests against election fraud and repression? Did you know that rape and sexual humiliation is a routine procedure in the prisons of the Islamic regime? Did you know that the security forces of the regime attack people in the streets, force their way into their homes, and generally behave toward the citizens in the way that even a foreign occupying force would not? Did you know the media including the internet is under total control of the Islamic regime? You can easily ascertain these facts for yourself by looking up the latest reports of the Amnesty International or the Human Rights Watch or other human rights agencies.
Have you not seen how Iranians have in the past eight months expressed their desire to rid their country of the Islamic tyranny? Did you not see the millions who came out in the streets despite serious risk to their safety? Did you not hear their demands: Down with the Dictator! Did you not know Iranians have continued their protest to this day in the face of constant official threats, of imprisonment and torture, and even of execution? Do you not think these truly honorable people deserve the support of honorable people around the world? Do you not think aiding the criminal regime in any way is the most dishonorable thing to do?
Iranians will come out again in their millions on February 11, on the anniversary of the stolen revolution of 1979. The Islamic regime is taking whatever step it can to stop people from taking part in the rally. It has just announced the imminent execution of 9 people who had been arrested in earlier rallies. Is this not a despicable crime? Is this not a blatant act of terrorism? The regime is also engaged in a treacherous war of propaganda against Iranian citizens. It wants to silence the voice of freedom. The internet will be shut down a couple of days before February 11, like it was on previous occasions. The mobile network will be shut down. The invited journalists will be taken to designated points, and not only their movements but also their reports and dispatches will be controlled and vetted. The embassies of the regime will play their role in this macabre theatre. The higher echelons of these embassies are manned by the criminals of the security forces who have sealed their loyalty to the regime by committing torture and murder.
You who take part in this wretched circus contribute to the anguish of Iranians, who rightly look at you as collaborators of their tormentors. Are you an academic, a career diplomat, a banker, etc.? Did you not know about the criminal nature of the Islamic regime and what it has done in its 31-year shameful existence? Find out more! Where you have access to knowledge, it is your responsibility to do so. You have just read a tiny fraction of its villainous misdeeds. You who have any conscience have no excuse and no business to take part in the shameful act the Canberra embassy has organized for you. Iranians do not forget, forgive or let murder pass! 06, 01. 10 Freedom-loving Iranians and citizens of Australia.
According to our information the embassy of the illegitimate regime ruling Iran is planning to hold a reception on the anniversary of the 1979 Iranian revolution. The event is to take place at the Hotel Realm of Canberra at 6:30 pm, February 11.
There is no need to recall again the nature of this regime, which especially in the past eight months has become vividly clear for all. The Islamic regime has ruled Iran by the power of the gun during its 31-year sanguine existence. On the other hand, the events of the past eight months have left no room for questioning the will of the nation to free itself of tyranny. No sincere actor can any longer pretend that this criminal regime represents Iranian citizens. No one can escape this glaring truth, and no actor can escape its consequences.
Let us be clear: whoever in any way sides with the criminal regime, by taking part in its miserable PR circus in this instance, also participates in its repression, torture, rape and murder of Iranians. If the invitees have no sense of decency to restrain them they should think about their reputation, for we will expose them. We ask the hotel manager not to sully its name and cancel the function.
Below is the text. Maybe you should make a copy and take it to the hotel and give it to staff, along with some information material.
